By Air
Southwest Florida International Airport: (239) 768-1000; located in Lee County, off New Exit
131 or Old Exit 21 (same exit) on I-75, providing
direct access to Sanibel-Captiva Islands via an easy
45-minute drive. The airport is served by nearly all
major airlines.
Orlando
Airport:
(407) 825-2001; located 7 miles south of Orlando;
take I-4 east to I-75 to New Exit 131 or Old Exit 21
(same exit).
Miami
International Airport:
(305) 876-7077; located 5 miles northwest of Miami;
take I-75 north to New Exit 131 or Old Exit 21 (same
exit).
Fort
Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport:

Lauderdale; take

Tampa
International Airport:

By Car
Interstate 75
Take New Exit 131 or Old Exit 21 (Daniels Parkway)
west to Summerlin Rd. approx. 7 miles. Turn left on
Summerlin Rd. drive approx 15 miles to the Sanibel
Causeway (a $6 toll). Drive across and onto Sanibel
Island. At the 4 way stop sign at Periwinkle Way,
either a right or a left turn will lead you to
beaches, shops and accommodations. To reach Captiva,
turn right on Periwinkle Way, drive 2 miles, turn
right onto Tarpon Bay Rd. at the next left turn onto
Sanibel-Captiva Rd. Drive for approx. 8 miles, cross
Blind Pass Bridge and you have arrived on Captiva.
The drive time from Sanibel to Captiva is 20-30
minutes.
Interstate 95
If you are driving into Florida from the north via
Jacksonville, take I-95 south to I-4 to I-75, and
then follow the directions above. If you are on
Florida's East Coast and choose to bypass the
Orlando and Tampa areas (both off I-75), take I-95
south to Fort Lauderdale and follow the signs
directing you to I-75 west (towards Naples).
