Walkway all lit up with nutcracker in the frameThe Luminary Stroll, a community-wide holiday event, is back for the 37th year! Hosted on Sanibel Island on December 3rd and Captiva Island on December 4th, the Luminary Stroll aims to bring together residents, visitors, businesses and organizations by promoting goodwill and community spirit.

The Sanibel portion of the Luminary Stroll stretches the entirety of Periwinkle Way – whereas the Captiva portion goes from Captiva Drive all the way to Andy Rosse Lane with treats and local businesses at each stop.

“Travel the trail,” and be sure to stop and enjoy all of the fun activities like:

  • Live music with Eric Malibu and Poppa Smoke at Periwinkle Place
  • Photos with Santa, live music, Christmas lights, plus more at Jerry’s Shopping Center!
  • Night in Bethlehem with a live nativity scene, children’s activities and more at the Sanibel Community Church
  • Sidewalk sales and retails deals
  • Holiday decorations and candle lined walkways
  • Free refreshments
  • And be sure to catch the golf cart parade on Captiva Island beginning at 3:00 pm!

“We know the business community is looking forward to opening doors once again to residents and guests on this special weekend that has become synonymous with island holidays,” said John Lai, chamber president, and chief executive officer. “It has been a celebrated occasion for so long that last year, despite all efforts to maintain merry momentum, traditional Luminary was sorely missed.”

Of course, one of the stars of the Luminary Festival is… well… the Luminary lager! This year’s Luminary Lager is brewed as a German Vienna Lager by Point Ybel Brewing, Co. Light Amber in color with a delicate biscuit aroma and delicious flavor from the German Vienna malt. It’s light, crisp, and refreshing! Luminary Lager Locations include:
